Sail on Sail on Sailor

What a life. An amazing one indeed! Sailing over a vast ocean for days without another ship or land in sight.

As a seafarer myself, I know how important it is to have nourishing food aboard the yacht when planning a voyage across the vast ocean. From experience, long journeys usually take longer than expected either due to ferocious storms or lack of wind.

It is difficult to keep fresh food for longer than a week especially if the journey will take three weeks or so. However, there is always a possibility to sprout seeds to keep the fresh greens going.

It is a good idea on such a long voyage to avoid taking lots of can food, especially since cans usually rust from the salt water and salt air. Tetra packs are better than cans because they do not rust and they are easier to store and transport. These days, there is a large variety of food that come in tetra packs.

Both stormy days and hot sun days, can have an impact on one's mental health. Therefore it is extremely important to have enough water and nourishing food on board.
